Our skin. Our skin is the body's largest organ and unlike other organs, the skin is visible. The same way your internal organs gets damage it also happens to your outer organ. Your skin. When you expose your skin to the cold, sun without protection, stress, no sleep, and pollutant, smoking, and alcohol, the negatives results to all of that will soon be shown if you don't take care of it. Your skin will start looking dehydrated and show signs of aging at an early age. There's four different type of skin...
Normal Skin/Combination Skin: Has no large pores, rarely breakouts, and never has a bad reaction towards skin products or makeup products.
- The way to to determine if you have normal skin is by checking if your cheeks tend to be slightly dry and around your noise oily. Usually, when you deal with skin like this that has one part oily and another part dry is best to buy different products to treat each area separately.
Oily Skin: Always feel greasy, is likely to suffer from breakouts and blackheads.
- Our skin produce an oil called "sebum" which keeps our skin healthy but too much sebum can be bad for your skin and that's when "oily" skin starts. Oily skin has it advantage. Women or men with this type of skin tend to have fewer wrinkles but they also have their disadvantage. They tend to suffer from breakouts and due to the excessive oil, it blocks the pores. When it comes to makeup, some makeup won't last long on your skin and in a few hours you'll see the shininess coming back. Ways to have that balance on your skin...
- Use an oil control lotion all over your face
- Wash your face twice a day with soaps that are specially made for dry skin only!
- Use a face toner. Face toners for oily skin will close up your pores and dry up any excessive oil. Also, make sure it doesn't have any fragrance in them.
- Exfoliate your skin!. You can make your own by mixing oatmeal with aloe vera. Break the oatmeal into small little pieces and mix it with the aloe vera to create a paste. Then rub your face for 2-3 minutes with it.
- Through out the day blot your face with blotting paper. You could find these at any drugstore near you.
- Use oil-free makeup ONLY!
Sensitive Skin: Always has a bad reaction when using skin products that includes fragrance or lanolin, and the skin may feel itchy or bumpy.
- Women with sensitive skin tend to have a negative reaction toward products with high fragrance and no natural ingredients, so in that case a moisturizer without fragrance and natural ingredients included are to be more gentle to the skin. Ways to have balance on your skin...
- Avoid products with alcohol and perfume!
- Don't use exfoliants that may be too harsh on the skin.
- Use organic products, they work best for sensitive skin. But always test them before applying or buying.
- Use "hypoallergenic" cleaners and moisturizer that are made specially for sensitive skin.
- The reason some people tend to have dry skin is because your body loses moisture faster than it can be replaced. The production of our natural oil is minimal and of course pores are not visible. The only advantage is that people with dry skin don't tend to breakout but they do tend to show signs of aging very quickly. Ways to have that balance on your skin you will need to...
- Buy skincare products that has "high water content"
- Drink at least 8 to 10 cup of water a day!
- Buy a sunscreen that has SPF 15.
- Wash with soaps that has natural products in it such as avocado and coconut.
- Applying a Aloe mask twice a week is great for dry skin and also use creams that contain Shea butter and vitamin A and E to revive your skin and protect it.
- When it comes to makeup, using a light moisturizing foundation is best for you. And oil base products are preferable for dry skin.
